What Is Paint Protection Film?
Paint protection film (PPF) is a clear, self-healing urethane film that physically applies to your vehicle's paint. People call it paint protection, a clear wrap, or just "the wrap stuff"; it is all the same film. The easiest way to think about it: a screen protector for your car. Unlike ceramic coating (which protects against UV, water spots, and chemical etching), PPF is the only product that physically blocks impact damage: rock chips from Highway 99 gravel, bug splatter at highway speeds, door dings, and scratches deep enough to hit primer.
Quality PPF is invisible when installed correctly. It self-heals from light scratches with heat. It lasts 7-10+ years before replacement is needed. And it's the gold-standard protection for the front end of any vehicle that sees real highway miles between Stanislaus County and the Bay Area.
Every paint protection film job includes a free ceramic coating. Not an upsell and not a package tier. Fit clear wrap with us and the ceramic coating over the top of it is included, so the film stays glossy and rinses clean instead of needing scrubbing.

PPF Coverage Options + Pricing
We install three primary coverage tiers, plus custom configurations on request. These are real ranges, not "call for pricing." Where you land depends on how complex the panels are on your specific vehicle, and we confirm the exact figure once we see it.
Full Front
$1,650 to $1,900 on a car, $2,250 to $3,000 on a truck. Hood, both fenders, front bumper, headlights, mirrors and grille. Our most popular tier for Modesto, Tracy and Manteca Bay Area commuters.
Track Pack
$2,650 to $3,250 depending on vehicle size. Everything in Full Front, plus rocker panels, A-pillars, trunk area and other high-impact areas. Sized to the specific vehicle. Popular on lifted trucks around Turlock and Riverbank.
Full Body
$6,000+. Every painted surface on the vehicle. Show cars, exotics, Teslas and "forever" vehicles.
Matte film is available on any tier and priced per vehicle. Every job includes the ceramic coating.

PPF Service Areas: Where Our Customers Come From
Oakdale, CA (Home Base)
Our studio sits at 604 Hedburg Way, Unit 12, Oakdale, CA 95361. We're the only System X certified and STEK-experienced PPF installer in Oakdale. Most local customers drop off in the morning and pick up 1-5 days later depending on coverage.
Modesto, CA
Modesto is our biggest customer base outside Oakdale, 15 minutes from downtown Modesto via Highway 108. We see daily drivers, family SUVs, Tesla Model Y owners commuting Bay Area corridors, and weekend builds from across the city. Most popular tier: Full Front PPF + Lifetime ceramic combo.
Manteca, CA
Manteca's rapid growth means more new vehicles and more highway commuters. 25 minutes from our shop via Highway 120. Manteca customers favor Track Pack PPF for the rocker panel coverage. Highway 99 throws a lot of debris between Manteca and the Bay Area.
Tracy, CA
Tracy commuters take I-205 and 580 to the Bay Area daily, some of the harshest highway corridors for paint damage in the Central Valley. PPF is essentially mandatory for Tracy-based daily drivers. We see lots of Tesla Model Y, BMW M3, and luxury SUV PPF installs from Tracy.
Turlock, Stanislaus + Surrounding
Turlock is a 30-minute drive via Highway 99. We work with the Stanislaus faculty community, healthcare professionals, and ag-industry families. Turlock customers favor Full Front PPF + ceramic combo on commuter vehicles, and Track Pack on lifted trucks.
Riverbank, Ceres, Ripon, and Other Stanislaus Cities
We serve customers from Riverbank (10 min), Ceres (25 min), Ripon (20 min), Escalon (15 min), Hughson (20 min), Waterford, Empire, and Salida. Same PPF tiers, same pricing, same warranty regardless of which Stanislaus or San Joaquin County city you're coming from. Schedule a consultation.

How PPF Stacks With Ceramic Coating
For most new vehicles in 2026, the right play is full-front PPF for impact + ceramic coating over the entire vehicle for UV and chemical protection. PPF on the front, ceramic everywhere. Both products are invisible when installed correctly. Together they cover every threat your paint will see in a Central Valley driving year.
We install this combo most weeks at our Oakdale shop. See the full ceramic vs PPF comparison or explore our ceramic coating tiers.

If your vehicle has paint worth protecting and sees real road miles, PPF is the right product. Send us photos and we'll quote the exact coverage tier and pricing for your specific year/make/model.
Hand Wash Only: No Brush Washes
Wash your PPF-protected vehicle by hand with pH-neutral soap. Automatic brush washes scratch the film's topcoat and can lift edges over time. Touchless rinses between washes are fine, and pressure washers should stay at least 6 inches from any film edge.
Let It Self-Heal in the Sun
Modern PPF has a self-healing topcoat. Light scratches and swirl marks disappear when the film warms up. After every wash, park in the sun for 10-15 minutes and minor marring resets to invisible.
Use a Ceramic Booster as Needed
A ceramic-safe booster spray can help maintain the coating's hydrophobic effect between details. We include this in our routine maintenance services to keep your coating slick, glossy, and fully protected.
Schedule Annual Inspections
Bring the vehicle by once a year so we can inspect the film edges, address any lifting before it spreads, and clean the high-impact zones (bumper, hood leading edge) where contamination accumulates over time. Annual maintenance keeps the warranty valid and extends the film's effective lifespan.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does PPF last?
Quality PPF lasts 7-10 years before replacement is needed. The manufacturer warranty covers premature yellowing, lifting, and failure for that full period.
Does PPF turn yellow?
Old PPF from 10+ years ago used to. Modern premium films have UV stabilizers built into the topcoat that prevent yellowing for 10+ years. We only install premium-tier film.
Will PPF damage my paint when it comes off?
No, as long as it was installed correctly and removed by a qualified installer within the film's lifespan. We use heat-assist removal that lifts the film cleanly without affecting the underlying clear coat.
Can I put ceramic coating over PPF?
Yes, and you should. The ceramic adds a hydrophobic top layer that makes the PPF easier to clean, more resistant to staining, and adds depth to the finish. We do this on most combo installs.
How long does installation take?
Full-front PPF takes 1-2 days. Track-pack takes 2-3 days. Full-body takes 3-5 days minimum, sometimes 7 days on vehicles with complex panel geometry. We do every install in our climate-controlled bay.
Does PPF really self-heal?
Yes. Modern PPF has a self-healing topcoat. Light scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat (park in the sun for 10 minutes after a wash and watch minor marring reset).
Will PPF stop every rock chip?
It blocks the vast majority of rock chip impact at highway speeds. Extremely large rocks at high speed can still cause damage, but the film typically absorbs the impact and prevents the damage from reaching your paint.
XPEL vs Suntek vs STEK: what's the difference?
All three are premium 10-year films with self-healing topcoats. XPEL Ultimate Plus is the most expensive with industry-leading clarity. Suntek Reaction is comparable performance at slightly lower cost. STEK Dynoshield is excellent value. Performance differences are small. STEK is the film we install.
How do I care for PPF after installation?
Wait 48 hours after install before any water contact. After that, wash normally with pH-neutral soap. Avoid pressure washers within 6 inches of film edges for the first month. Touchless rinses are fine immediately after the 48-hour cure.
